#InkTober 2015 - Day 4 - Elvira

Hiya,

Day four brings the "Girls" element to the whole Halloween theme, this one's not completely inked here but I have completed it now and will upload it soon.

Enjoy - Elvira Mistress of the Dark!

#InkTober Day 3 - Frank-en-Stein

Hi,

Day three and we switch to Ghouls/monsters and beer, (mmm beer). I decided to do a little twist on Frankenstein's monster and draw him as a stein glass, it's look good with some colours but it's about the inking this month :)

Enjoy!

#Inktober - Day 2

Hiya!

So the theme for this year is "Ghosts, Ghouls, Girls and Goblins" and will probably include some Goths and other "G's" too so here's the first up, "Ghosts!" the Pacman kind.

Enjoy!

InkTober 2015 - Day1

Morning!

#InkTober is here again and I had a theme construed for this time round but real life have prompted me to complete something else before I can start on that theme.

I can only reveal part of it at the moment as it is a birthday surprise so sssssh! I don't want him to know yet! :)

I'll post the full image after his birthday :D

And here it is the full image, knocked it out of the park!

Enjoy!

Pretty Deadly - Finished

Hi,

Pretty Deadly Volume two is in the works so I thought I should finish off my piece of fan art.

I've a real thing for getting cowboy hats right of late and they are a little tricky so I'm really pleased on how it turned out and the piece in the end too.

Enjoy!

Robins VII, VIII, IX, X

- Red Hood -
- aka Jason Todd (3rd Robin)

Batman got a blockhead character so I decided to give Robin one too :)
- Probably Tim Drake because I am biased.

- Carrie Kelly -
- Originally introduced in Frank Millers Dark Knight Returns DC have reintroduced her in the DCU but we'll be waiting to see if she shows as a Robin.

- Angry Bird -
Red breasted or NZ Black Robin, hmm maybe I'll try both when I colour this little fella :)

Enjoy!

Pretty Deadly

Hi,

Thought I'd post a little something colour that I have been working on. Based on the Image comic series "Pretty Deadly" https://imagecomics.com/comics/series/pretty-deadly

"Death's daughter rides the wind on a horse made of smoke and her face bears the skull marks of her father. Her tale of retribution is as beautifully lush as it is unflinchingly savage."

So here's my version of her, (a colour work in progress):

Robin's III, IV, V, VI

Hi,

Well I've been zooming through them but not posting quite as regularly. These little fella's didn't make it to the colour stage but I thought I'd share them in the pencil glory :).

III. Stephanie Brown - The Cluemasters daughter graduated to being a Robin and then later moved to become and impressive Batgirl too.

IV. The Original 'Flying Grayson' - None can really beat the original (though my real favourite is Tim Drake)

V. Lego - Tim Drake - Why? Because Lego superhero's ROCK! :)

VI. Damian Wayne - Yes Bruce has a son, not my favourite to begin with but now he's upped his game and got superpowers to boot! Kick-ass!!

Enjoy!

Month of Robin's I & II

Hi,

Seeing as it is my birthday this month, I thought I'd make it a "Month of Robin's".

I haven't quite finished this first one but she's almost ready to go. Though not actually a 'Robin' in any DC comics continuity, I was just having fun with the idea, so here's "Robin I":

Robin II is from one of my favourite animated shows at the moment 'Teen Titans GO!'

I aiming for 28 all up so keep you're eyes peeled for a plethora of Robins!

Happy Friday the Thirteenth!

Chromacon Update and Painting

Hi there!

Well I've heard back from my Chromacon application and unfortunately I haven't  made the cut this time round. A bit gutted but onwards and upwards.

I'll be heading to the show to check out some wonderful artists that have made the cut, check them out here: http://www.chromacon.co.nz/artists/

I've had a second go with my watercolours and am happier with how it turned out this time, so here's the progress, though i'm still feeling there's a bit more till it's completed.

Look for more soon.
Enjoy!

Musical Deviations - 'Cause

Hi!

Way back in 2007 when I had the good fortune to work with a talented individual by the name of Ian Rushton.

I found out he was an awesome musician and shared some lyrics for a song I had written and he turned it into more than just words back then and has now re-mastered it to create more depth, emotion and feeling.

Check it out here: http://ianrushton.bandcamp.com/track/cause

Cheers!

ChromaCon 2015 and New Techniques!

Returning for a second year is the Indie Arts festival 'ChomaCon' at the Aotea Centre in Auckland on April 18th and 19th. Check out the website here: http://www.chromacon.co.nz/

I'm doubly-excited as I have put in an application for a table at this years event so am waiting with baited breath to find out if I make it through the selection process.

To start off the New Year I'm giving some new techniques a go and this one is watercolours utilising felt pens. I like the outcome but I think there is more work to be done to finish it off, so watch this space as I work through to get it where I want it to be.

In the mean time a belated Happy New Year (even though January is almost gone) and I hope you'll enjoy the ride.

Enjoy!
