Wild, Wild West

 Hiya!

In June this year one of my colleagues headed off to Europe to spend time with family and so i had to do a leaving card that highlighted some of the things we shared/dealt with at work.

I had a lot of fun with this and he really enjoyed it too!

Enjoy!

Triple Treat

 Hola,

It's been a while and haven't things been busy! It's all good though because it means more art to share.

Check out this triple treat, three fun and bright caricatures delivering personality, happiness and personalisation for each of the recipients.

It was a total pleasure creating these and adding the signature things to distinguish each of the personalities represented in them.

Cheers,

Rob!

28 Days of Robin - Day 14 - Robin - The Toy Wonder

 Hi!

Day 14 - gives us Robin the Toy Wonder - Hey it was 1998 :D - it seemed like fun at the time and was part of the DC One Million event.

Back story on Robin- the Toy Wonder:

Robin the Toy Wonder is the Robin of the 853rd Century, the robot sidekick of Batman.

Batman's parents were guards on the prison planet of Pluto, but were killed in a prison riot that turned into a mass slaughter of the guards. Robin is programmed with the personality of this Batman as a boy. He was created as his conscience to remind him not to go too far in his cause for justice. The Toy Wonder believes this was the same reason the original Batman brought the first Robin into his life.

28 Days of Robin - Day 13 - Harper Row - Bluebird

 Hi!

Day 13 brings us Harper Row, a character brought into the Scott Snyder Batman run and I think an awesome character and while not technically a 'Robin', she's definitely Robin-worthy!.

A bit of back story:

Harper Row, also known as Bluebird, is one of Batman's allies. She is gifted at electrical engineering. Harper progressed from a bat-tech support through the events of the Batman Eternal storyline to become Bluebird.

Enjoy the pictures!

DTIYS - Draw this in your style (1 Million years later :D)

Hi,

1 Million years - well okay two (at least)

I picked up this image through the talented kiwi artist Edmo Central and the source image from Sweeny Boo and wanted to put my spin on it. I started it two years ago and have finally finished playing with the idea, cleaned and coloured it up.

Do a Powerbomb - YEEHAH!

 Hi there!

I've been enjoying Daniel Warren Johnsons' larger than life wrestling comic "Do a Powerbomb"!  And with DWJ featuring fanart in the issues I had the inspiration to put (watercolour) pencils and inks to paper and whiz up this piece, this is the main character is Lona Steelrose.

It was a lot of fun and came out just as I wanted it too, i.e. not looking too much like coloured pencils and more like watercolour and am happy with the results, I've submitted it and have fingers crossed it may find its way into the comic, though we shall see :)

I hope you enjoy the progress shots, the DLPW (Death Lyfe Pro Wrestling) belt was a bit of work with the emblem design, though satisfying to complete!

Do a Powerbomb also reminds me of the awesome NZ artist Michel Mulipola's Headlocked, which you should check out too! https://www.bloodysamoan.com/

Cheers,

Robin

Slash - Guitarist from another angle

Hi!

I had some inspiration the other day from the talented Ryan Scott Illustration where he drew a very cool and fun perspective view of entertainer and icon Willie Nelson.

Drawing on this inspiration - and the fact that Slash's new album '4' featuring Myles Kennedy and the Conspirators was all over my social media - well I had to take his Willie and go for a Slash.

Jokes aside the artist journey was really fun, mixing the pencils, inks, coloured pencils and computer colours and effects, along with leaving that rawness of the pencils in there, here is a artistic journey from inspiration to finished piece.

I hope you enjoy and please check out Ryan's work on face book and his website WWW.RYANSCOTTDRAWS.COM

Cheers,

Rob!
